I’m the BetesBoss! I figured I can’t just dive into the present without a little background information. I’m a Jersey girl born and raised. I grew up right on the water of the beautiful Jersey Shore. I come from a loud, supportive, crazy, and loving Italian family. I have a brother, Pauly, who’s 20 months younger than me.
T H E – D I A G N O S I S
I was diagnosed on March 13th, 2001 — which was my 10th birthday. 🎉 I am 29 years old, so that’s 19 years living with diabetes. My Mom could tell the story of my diagnosis better, but basically I was misdiagnosed by my pediatrician’s office. I had all of the signs: weight loss, dehydration, bad breathe, constant thirst and urination. But we didn’t know the signs. A family friend with a T1D son told my mom to buy Ketone Sticks from the pharmacy and my ketones were off the charts. My Mom took me to the emergency room immediately and I was in ICU for days. If she didn’t take me to the emergency room that night I would’ve died. I don’t like to tell that story so much because I feel like it sounds so dramatic, but looking back it WAS dramatic and traumatic.

Fast forward 19 years and here we are. I live in Howell, NJ with my husband, Edward ❤️ @expalfini, and our pup Kylo 🦊 @kylopupp . I am two days older than Eddie (we’re both pisces).
